Job/Project Description: Amgen's Global Biomed Data Sciences (GBDS) Operations Resource Mgt department at our Thousand Oaks headquarters is looking for an undergraduate student interested in a 10 - 12 week internship to collaborate with members of the Global Biomedical Data Sciences Operations Resource Management team, in managing the day to day changes to the resource allocation data to ensure cost and service level attainment; perform retrospective metrics analysis for continuous improvement opportunities .
Intern candidate may spend up to1/2 of their time performing analytical and trend analysis work assignments by developing and utilizing spreadsheets, databases and other computer applications as well as managing specialized reports, forms to track projects. Other 1/2 of time may be spent supporting the GBDS Program Management Office in leading one or more short term process improvement effort(s) by working in close collaboration with GBDS PMO to manage competing timelines and prioritize critical tasks. Actively participate in directing the evolution and defining the role of the project
Additional projects may also involve supporting one of the other GBDS operations departments: Training, and Standards

Basic Qualifications Must be in the process of earning a BS/ BA degree in Business Admin, Economics, Finance Accounting or IS. • Minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher Amgen requires that all individuals applying for an internship or a co-op assignment at Amgen must meet the following criteria: • Must be 18 years or older; • Must be a current full time student • Must have completed at least one full year of study at the time of application; • Must have not yet graduated; • Must be in good academic standing within their majors and overall at their university; • Must be enrolled in school the fall season following the potential internship or co-op assignment. • Must not be employed at the time the internship starts
Preferred Qualifications • Proven ability to articulate ideas, strategies, and solutions clearly, orally, in writing and through presentation skills. • Proven organizational skills, including demonstrated experience managing multiple projects, deadlines and demonstrated ability to effectively manage detail. • Relevant experience working, collaboratively in a team environment • Ability to demonstrate a sense of personal accountability and success for achieving results tied to specific goals • Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint • Ability to collect, evaluate and interpret data, in both statistical and narrative form • Capable of preparing files and maintaining records and documentation • Demonstrated leadership experience in workplace or community setting. • Completed finance coursework or have experience in accounting, finance and or macroeconomics. • Proficiency with MS Project and Share Point • Majoring in related field : Project Management, Operations, Management, or Business Administration • Demonstrable Project Management Skills
