Technical Project Manager
Title: Technical Project Manager Location: Missouri-St. Louis Monsanto is passionate about using science and technology to improve agriculture. Monsanto scientists are conducting the research and development (R&D) to revolutionize plant breeding and biotechnology. The Technology Pipeline Solutions (TPS) team within IT works directly with the Monsanto scientists to develop software platforms that enable these research and development efforts. The accepted candidate will join the emerging field of IT systems informatics and leverage their project management skills to play a key role in defining and delivering breakthrough science in high throughput R&D platforms for Monsanto. The responsibilities of this position are to define, develop, and deliver systems solutions for our Research and Development (Technology) organizations. The candidate must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills to successfully partner with the Technology organizations to understand the opportunities and to identify and deliver these systems solutions. The person in this role will be responsible for: . Managing a team of software developers, business analysts, support specialists and testers across multiple projects . Ensuring that development objectives and project deliverables are accomplished on time . Coordinating requirement definition . Tracking enhancements . Coordinating testing and documentation . The adoption of project management, technical practices and standards . Managing the review processes for new technology implementations
Required Skills: . A BS degree is required and an MS in Computer Science, Engineering or MIS is highly desired . At least 5 years of IT Project Management/Leadership Experience . Demonstrated success conducting project management for teams in an IT/Java development environment . The ability to interact and communicate with software developers, software architects, project managers, business analysts, testers and technical leads in order to facilitate project completion . Strong organizational, leadership, written, oral communication and problem solving skills . The ability to work effectively in ambiguous situations, strong critical thinking skills and the ability to be decisive while working cooperatively with others . The ability to travel (minimal)
