Role Summary/Purpose The Technical Leader - Electrical Repair & Monitoring will demonstrate accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives. In this role you will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization. You will be involved in long-term planning and contribute to the overall strategy and manages complex issues within functional areas area of expertise.
Essential Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership for a team of NPI engineers working on electrical repair & monitoring projects assigned to RTCOE
- Assure all NPI products meet technical and design requirements
- Develop cross functional relationships with interfacing organizations such as Product Line, PR&S, Sourcing, Field Services, Power Services, Global engineering and Global Research
- Support service programs fulfillment for new NPI products through R0, R1 process.
- Provide strong guidance and contribution to multi generation technology plans around electrical repairs and monitoring
- Communicate progress to all levels of the organization
- Mentor and develop less experienced personnel
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor?s of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science
- At least 5 additional years of generator design experience

Desired Characteristics
- Master?s of Science in Engineering is preferred
- Additional experience in generator and or motor design is preferred
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification (GE employees only)
- Sound mechanical design and analytical background
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes, mechanical & electrical testing related to synchronous high voltage machines, and installation
- Demonstrated ability to drive projects to completion
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Able to interface effectively with all levels of the organization and external customers
