There is currently an opening in our Zeeland Michigan facility for Senior Scientistin the Chemical Development Group.
Duties and Responsibilities: * New process/product development * Project management * Troubleshoot existing processes * Implement process improvements * Develop processes for new products to be introduced into pilot/production plants * Manage projects from lab through pilot and/or production activities * Troubleshoot existing processes/products to increase efficiency/productivity * Develop process improvements to existing chemical processes * Develop analytical methodology to support all of the above * Preparation of written reports * Prepare cost estimates for new product opportunities
Education and Experience: * B.S. Chemistry or Chemical Engineering with 10-15 years batch process/production experience, or * M.S. or anic Chemistry with 5-10 years of process/production experience in the fine chemical industry * Project management experience * Solid analytical skills including GC and HPLC * Ability to work in production environment * Solid problem solving skills * Ability to work independently * Good organizational skills * Good written and verbal communication skills * Solid computer skills in technical literature searching, spreadsheet, word processing, project management, etc.
