Job Description
The Senior Research Scientist is an expert in one or more analytical techniques. The scientist's principal responsibility is the design, development, validation and implementation of analytical procedures. The scientist is expected to provide significant contributions to the problems assigned, and to demonstrate an ability to solve problems. The scientist is self-motivated and continually demonstrates initiative in handling responsibilities, and strives to do the job better. * Develop, establish and validate analytical/pharmaceutical methods as assigned. * Execute assigned laboratory work related to analytical/pharmaceutical development. * Routinely discuss the status of assigned programs and potential problems with supervisor. Interface with other departments and customers. * Submit complete, high-quality records of all experiments and observations. Ensure that data is filed and accessible for review in accordance with applicable standard operating procedures. * Analyze data and information for technical correctness and accuracy, validity and integrity; interpret and evaluate results. * Maintain compliance with regulations at all levels as well as strict adherence to standard operating procedures and cGMP's as necessary. * May train and mentor junior level team members, although primary role is that of individual contributor. * Use and maintain equipment in a neat and orderly manner. Report malfunctions and/or repair minor problems as necessary. Maintain service and calibration records. * Organize workload and coordinate activities in order to carry out multiple projects concurrently and in accordance with established objectives, timelines and deadlines. * Adaptable to changing priorities such that productivity and efficiency is minimally affected. * Develop and maintain working knowledge of instrumentation, equipment and scientific methodologies necessary to perform assigned analytical/pharmaceutical development tasks. * Maintain familiarity with current, relevant scientific literature. * Exhibit safety awareness and conduct laboratory operations and chemical disposal in a safe manner; maintain a clean and organized work environment free of safety hazards. * Suggest improvements for safety, work quality, and productivity. * Demonstrate a high level of professionalism, enthusiasm, dedication and productivity.

Job Requirements
* Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry or related field. Will also consider B.S. or M.S. with equivalent experience. * Industrial experience in the pharmaceutical indsutry is a strong positive. * Excellent communication skills are a must.
