Science Software Application Support Specialist
Title: Science Software Application Support Specialist Location: Missouri-St. LouisMonsanto is passionate about using science and technology to improve agriculture. Monsanto scientists are conducting the research and development (R&D) to revolutionize plant breeding and biotechnology. The Technology Pipeline Solutions (TPS) team within IT works directly with the Monsanto scientists to develop software platforms that enable these research and development efforts. Candidates with a strong background in science and PC proficient are highly desired for this position. The accepted candidate will join the emerging field of IT systems informatics leveraging their scientific training to play a key role in defining and delivering breakthrough science in high throughput R&D platforms for Monsanto.
This position is responsible for deploying and supporting enterprise-level software systems developed by TPS for R&D. Responsibilities include software deployment, training, user adoption, user support, troubleshooting, issue tracking and software documentation. The Support Specialist has liaison responsibilities with each application's software project team. Required Skills: BS in Computer Science, Biology, Agronomy, Plant Sciences, Chemistry or comparable work experience in Agriculture/Biotechnology PC Proficient-a strong working knowledge of Excel, Access and other Microsoft software Strong organizational skills, interpersonal skills and problem solving skills Self starter and be able to work alone or as a part of a team
Desired Skills: MS or PhD in Biology or Plant Sciences Experience with agricultural research and/or business
