Title: Production Technician Location: Massachusetts-North Andover The Dow Chemical Company has openings for Process Technicians in North Andover, MA.
Job Summary: Responsible for the manufacture of high purity organometallic chemicals for the compound semiconductor film industry in accordance with business, EHS and Quality System requirements. Key activities include charging of raw materials, process control, preparation of production documentation, disposition of process wastes, operator maintenance (assembling, disassembling and cleaning of process equipment) and general housekeeping. This position requires the ability to work a flexible shift schedule and limited overtime.
* Synthesize and purify metalorganic compounds according to documented procedures * Preparation of production documentation * Operator maintenance (assembling, disassembling and cleaning of process equipment) * Safe handling and documentation of process wastes * Responsible for incorporating RC/14001 policy into the conduct of their jobs * Support and comply with all EHS programs and corporate safety standards including the Safety Journey, incident/ near-miss reporting, Behavioral Safety Sampling, performing all necessary conditional inspections and attending safety and regulatory training as required. * High School Diploma or GED. Associates degree in Biology, Chemistry or related field is preferred. * 1-2 years experience in manufacturing environment preferred. 1 - 2 years of experience in chemical operations, pilot plant or 2 - 4 years of industrial operations / laboratory experience is preferred. * Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills is required * Mechanical aptitude required * Flexible schedule required * Computers skills preferred, including Microsoft products and SAP * Previous experience handling reactive chemicals or air-sensitive materials is preferred
