Process Engineer
Title: Process Engineer Location: null This position will provide technical support in one or more manufacturing units in the Lubrizol Advanced Materials, Inc. plant in Louisville, KY.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Serve in a leadership role in process-improvement initiatives. * Develop and implement projects to improve the quality, efficiency and uptime of the product lines. * Work with R&D on improving current products and scale up of new products. * Identify and provide justification to support capital improvement projects * Support systems associated with ISO 9002 certification. * Use statistical process control tools to proactively identify process shifts.
Serve in a leadership role in the plant safety and environmental programs with a focus on manufacturing operations. * Work with the plant operator team to eliminate potential hazards * Promote safe work practices * Implement corrective actions * Lead chemical and process hazard analysis as needed. * Use and maintain systems associated with management of change and process safety management. * Support systems associated with RCMS certification
Support the daily production activities. * Develop expertise on the distributive control system for maintenance and troubleshooting purposes. * Provide day to day technical support to operating staff. * Write operating procedures and participate in training for process operators. * Become familiar with all aspects of the SAP enterprise management system to assist in production modeling, scheduling, ordering, training of operators, etc. * Lead quality meetings, perform root cause analysis and investigate, and implement corrective actions. Skills, Qualifications, Experience, Special Physical Requirements:
* Bachelor Degree in ChE * Minimum of two years experience in a chemical manufacturing facility * Working knowledge of process control systems including distributive control systems and/or programmable logic control systems; working proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; ability to work with Company and plant specific business software systems. * Good interpersonal skills with ability and desire to effectively work in a team environment. * Demonstrated leadership skills with ability to make independent decisions if necessary. * Ability to communicate effectively and clearly, both verbally and in writing. Considered a Plus * Advanced degree * Experience in a process covered by OSHA 1910.119, Process Safety Management of Highly Hazardous Chemicals * Familiarity with distributive control systems Compensation * Salary Range: $59,900 - $76,700 * Bonus eligible
