Pig Health Specialist - Heron Lake, Luverne Location: Luverne, Heron Lake, MN Salary Range: $11.25/hour Exempt/Non-Exempt: Non-Exempt Employment Type: Full Time Description: The Pig Health Specialist will have direct and indirect responsibilities focused on the health of the sows and piglets. Tasks performed by the Pig Health Specialist center around sanitation practices, routine processing and vaccinations all of which contribute to improved health of the growing pig and the sow herd.
Duties: Will be responsible to administer piglet and sow vaccinations, processing piglets, tattooing, barn sanitation, assisting with preg check and conditioning, assist emptying rooms, tear down rooms, power washing, setting up rooms, hanging cards. Qualifications: Previous livestock handling helpful, but not required.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs occassionally with frequent lifting of objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
Must be able to operate a powerwasher.
Must be able to work a 43-hour work week, Monday through Friday.
