Job Description
The Clinical Pharmacist role is essential to the patient care. The Clinical Pharmacist is valued for applying knowledge and skills to deliver appropriate, safe, efficient, effective and cost effective pharmaceutical care in the scope of their particular assignment. The Clinical Pharmacist is instrumental in the care of patients, as well as the development of effective, professional relationships within the multidisciplinary team. Acting as a resource to other staff members, the Clinical Pharmacist is an esteemed and valued clinical provider of patient care.
A clinical pharmacist position in Infectious Disease/Antimicrobial Stewardship is available at Intermountain Medical Center. Responsibilities include co-chairing the Antimicrobial Stewardship program with the Medical Director of the Antimicrobial Stewardship program and rounding with the Infectious Diseases team at Intermountain Medical Center. Serve as a member of the Critical Care team by participating in group meetings, staff development programs, projects, service and journal clubs. Participation in departmental and interdisciplinary committees to support the organization's efforts for performance improvement to improve patient safety, therapeutic outcomes, and cost savings is required. Serve as a medication therapy resource for other clinical pharmacists, pharmacy students, pharmacy residents, pharmacy interns, physicians, medical residents, nurses, and patients. Opportunities for collaborative clinical research are available and encouraged. Precepting pharmacy residents and students on clinical rotations is required. Adjunct clinical faculty appointments are available.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or PharmD degree from an ACPE-accredited college of pharmacy
- Applicants must be eligible for pharmacy licensure in Utah and be able to dispense controlled substances
- Excellent interpersonal skills are required
- Position is Monday through Friday 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
Preferred Qualifications
- Pharmacy Practice Residency and Specialty Residency in Infectious Disease
- Infectious Disease Pharmacy Fellowship
- Board Certification in Pharmacotherapy
