View Full Job Description Operations ManagerEssential Functions: This full-time position will be responsible for: · General Management of the facility including: vehicles, maintenance, employees, sales, reporting and safety. · Organizes and schedules all necessary resources required to accomplish activities. Coordinates daily operational needs with team. · Plans, distributes, monitors, and follows-up daily route assignments to ensure customers are serviced per company standards and agreements. · Monitors driver and laborer time and attendance, minimizing overtime and ensuring that drivers do not exceed limits established by regulatory agencies (e.g., 60 hour rule). · Reviews weekly demand / volume for routes, determines potential gains from re-routing, and recommends re-routes to the routing specialist. · Acquires and coordinates temporary workers assigned to assist drivers on routes. · Ensures that drivers comply with physicals, drug or alcohol tests, and training required by regulatory agencies. · Establishes and maintains a clean, safe work environment in compliance with Company/Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards. · Ensures set-up errors and missed pickups are reported and resolved. · Plans routes to provide the most efficient service to customers while also managing lab hours and disposal tons. · Conducts employee observations and evaluations to ensure safety and productivity procedures are being following. · Responds to driver reports of problem pickups such as unsafe conditions or hazardous waste. · Provides weekly/ monthly reports to management, payroll, customer billing, and business partners. · Responds effectively and courteously to escalated customer service complaints, requests or inquires. · On occasion, may need to pick up a route or help drive.
Requirements: · 5+ years as a Supervisor/ Manager. · Trucking or logistics company background, preferred. · High energy willing to get-the-job-done attitude. · Analytical skills · Strong communication, organization, leadership and delegation skills. · Ability to perform all the essential functions of this job. · Class A or B CDL preferred.
Education/Experience: Associates Degree. Bachelorâ??s degree in Communications, Marketing, Training & Development or related areas of study, preferred. Or relevant work experience (5+ years).
Work Environment: The work environment in this position can change dramatically. Office setting: phone ringing, people meeting etc. This position will require being on the landfill: trucks, equipment, waste, etc. This position also may be a truck setting. Exposure to extreme conditions- extreme hot or cold, working in high places, exposure to waste.
Physical Demands: The physical demands are the ability to lift 20 lbs for filing, sitting for long periods of time, speaking on the phone, using fingers for writing and typing. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
