Operations EngineerTitle: Operations Engineer Location: United States-Texas-Freeport Other Locations: This position will provide engineering, technical, and managerial support and leadership to the Freeport operations. The incumbent will contribute to achieving the operations team's objectives by participating in, coordinating, and leading production, maintenance, technology/capital improvements, health, safety, ecology (inclusive of enabling needed control measures to assure compliance to regulatory permits), quality assurance, and logistics.
Principle responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Maintain the calculation basis for unit's permits and prepare emission event calculations * Identify and investigate Title V deviations. Ability to develop corrective actions to prevent/reduce deviations for the sustainable operations of the units. * Communicate/Train DOT on the applicable ecology rules and requirements. * Work with the EHS team to assure full comprehension of all permit conditions with the operating unit personnel and apply appropriate control measures (DCS process control loops, alarms, operating procedures, etc) that enables full compliance to permit limits. * Provide production and process optimization, troubleshooting, data analysis, and technical support to the operations organization. * Develop process standards, operating procedures, diagrams, training materials, and job aids as required to properly document, teach, and manage site operations. * Conduct managed experiments using DOE principles, run plans, and change management tools to identify and implement improvement opportunities addressing quality, costs, throughput, and operating reliability. * Organize, lead, and participate in improvement initiatives, projects, and process optimization teams to deliver specific, focused, time bound improvement objectives. * Monitor operations on a daily/weekly basis, reviewing KPI's, operating logs, Distributed Control System (DCS) trends, quality results, and other sources of data to ensure reliable, consistent, and cost effective operations. Intervene where appropriate to identify and resolve operating issues. * Design and implementation of new processes and/or equipment upgrades. Manage capital project assignments as necessary to support plant improvements. * Satisfactorily perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: * BS in Chemical Engineering. Experience with production, process, or mechanical troubleshooting and optimization activities at a manufacturing facility desired. * Minumum of 2- 4 years experience in manufacturing role or similiar job. PDP employees that have succssfully completed the program are welcome to apply. * Working knowledge and experience with Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or similar data driven process improvement methodologies with the ability to facilitate and lead project teams to successful implementation is desired. * Working knowledge of reliability improvement techniques such as predictive and preventive maintenance, root cause analysis, risk based inspections, and total productive maintenance is also desired. * Proven track record of working in a team environment. Must possess a strong technical/problem solving aptitude and be data driven. Able to solve complex problems by identifying and enrolling appropriate resources. * Background in environmental, health, and safety in manufacturing or related roles is a plus. * Must show strong initiative, be self motivated, work with minimal supervision. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. * Knowledge of DCS and advanced process control systems is desired. Experience working in either chemical or petrochemical industry highly desired.
