Internship - Gene Expression Profiling (M/F) An incredible opportunity to gain broad experience within a market-leading, innovative, multinational company exists. Your main responsibilities are: As Intern - Gene Expression Profiling Technician, you will be responsible for developing and validating gene expression assay for primarily tomato fruit quality candidate genes using RT-PCR.
You will be involved in: * Tomato samples preps * RNA extraction, cDNA synthesis * Bioinformatics (house-keeping and target genes primers design) * Gene expression analysis * (other crops involved as well)
Goal: set up a new procedure for low-thruput gene expression (appr. 20 genes).
Who qualifies for the Internship Program? * Graduate Students pursuing a BsC or MsC degree in Plant Genomics or similar field. Juniors in similar degree programs will also be considered. * Have a desire to attain agricultural research experience. * Strong communication skills are required to provide reports and data reviews to Research Scientists. * Fluency in English, written as well as spoken, is required; * Critical personal competencies: networking, communication and motivational skills, tactical thinking - agility, leading by influencing others, results orientation. Our offer You will be given the opportunity to work side by side with a Monsanto Research Scientist(s) and receive practical experience on numerous research activities common within Industry. You will start preferably in November/December for a 4 month internship.
