Description
Candidate must be a US citizen and either possess or be eligible for a DoD TOP SECRET clearance at the start of the contract. This work is in Kansas City, MO in support of the Marine Corps Enterprise Information Technology System (MCEITS) operation and upgrades.Candidate will be senior member of the team responsible for providing IA and security engineering support to MCEITS.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: system IA, certification and accreditation (C&A) tasks, including, documentation, life cycle security assessment and testing, reviewing designs and proposed configuration changes against security policies, IAVAs, STIG checklists, and designing and performing vulnerability remediation or determining alternate means of vulnerability mitigation when necessary.Assess the impact of pending (draft) policies on the MCEITS environment.Related tasks will include working with application owners to assure coordination of IA and C&A efforts and sign-offs necessary for the development/update of new/existing Authority to Operate (ATO) packages prior to mofing the application to the MCEITS hosting environment. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:The Information Assurance Engineer responsibilities include:•Support Functional development processes by capturing and refining IA requirements•Coordinate and merge IA requirements into MCEITS policies•Develop long term IA project plans•Assist with integration of IA requirements into development processes through purposeful security design, review, and configuration•Discover IA requirements relative to AIT equipment use and security protocols•Define Functional Security requirements•Assist in Functional Security Architecture Design•Assist material developers in understanding IA Requirements•Support implementation of Security Solutions•Test and Evaluate effectiveness•Assist in specification, development, implementation of solution design and IA products•Review IA processes and recommend efficiencies
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelors degree in related discipline plus four to eight years of related experienceDepending upon engineering discipline, a combination of vocational and/or military certifications plus three to five years experience may be substituted for degree. Security+ certification or other appropriate certification as required by DoD 8570.01-M for Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II
Experience with Marine Corps IA Certification & Assurance (C&A) tools and processesKnowledge of Cisco routers and switches, Windows, Solaris, and LinuxCISSP certification or other appropriate certification as required by DoD 8570.01-M for Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level IIIExperience with Marine Corps Systems Engineering processes and policiesExperience with Marine Corps programs.
