Amgen Finance in Thousand Oaks, CA is looking for MBAs interested in a 10 to 12 week internship. Amgen's MBA Summer Finance Internship program is an important source of full-time hires for Amgen Finance. Summer interns will be assigned a primary and a secondary project within different functions of finance (e.g. Treasury, Operations, Business Development, R&D) to give interns a better idea of the cross functional nature of a full-time role. Projects are timely and relevant in supporting Amgen's strategic and tactical goals. Past projects have included analyzing potential biosimilar product P&Ls, evaluating Amgen's internal asset allocation strategy, emerging market entry strategy, and strategic inventory optimization. Interns are given access to senior finance leadership through a series of lunches and encouraged to spend the summer meeting staff across the organization.

Basic Qualifications Bachelors Degree required. Prospective Candidates must be in the process of completing their first year of their Master of Business Administration degree (MBA).
Amgen requires that all individuals applying for an internship or a co-op assignment at Amgen must meet the following criteria: • Must be 18 years or older • Must be a current full time student • Must have completed at least one full year of study • Must have not yet graduated • Must be in good academic standing within their majors and overall at their university • Must be enrolled in school the fall season following the potential internship or co-op assignment • Must not be employed at the time the internship starts
Preferred Qualifications 1. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills 2. Strong oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to interact well with all levels of management 3. Strong leadership ability and a team player 4. Three or more years of experience in performing sophisticated financial modeling 5. Biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or health care industry experience is a plus, but is not required
