Environmental Air Compliance Engineer

This position is responsible for the following:

 

  • Managing all aspects of the Compliance System to ensure full implementation and compliance with federal and state regulations, with an emphasis on 40 CCR 61, Subpart FF, Benzene Waste Operations NESHAP (BWON)
  • Accurate and timely submittal of all reports and participates in Title V Reasonable Inquiry process in all areas of responsibility
  • Developing, maintaining, and driving compliance program elements into applicable levels of the site organization; completing compliance system documentation and training to ensure sustainable performance
  • Assisting in the improvement of compliance work processes

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering or related Environmental Science field
  • At least 5 years of experience in managing compliance for air sources at a large industrial chemical or refining facility.  This includes documenting regulatory applicability determinations, verifying process streams, understanding mitigation and controls devices, performing emissions monitoring, and calculating air emissions
  • Experience with federal and state laws governing air emissions
  • Experience with reports to state and federal agencies
  • Experience with the following air regulations (Benzene NESHAP, HON/MACT)
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel spreadsheets to analyze and summarize data

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemical Engineering
  • Experience in Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR) regulations and programs
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel functions such as graphing, pivot tables and external connections
  • Experience in Process Engineering
