DH Optimization Lead
Title: DH Optimization Lead Location: Missouri-St. Louis
Monsanto is looking for a highly motivated scientist to lead our double haploid optimization team. Primary responsibility is the improvement of doubling efficiency in our global DH program, development of automation solutions to improve process efficiency and improve our biological process of haploid induction and chromosome doubling. Position requires Ph.D. in plant breeding, molecular biology, biochemistry or related fields. Successful candidate must be able to direct research on improving double haploid production in corn. Candidates must have skills in statistical analysis, data management, genomics, and biochemistry. Position will lead other scientist; interact with plant breeders, statistical support teams, information technology teams and engineering teams. Individual must be self motivated and possess excellent communication and team work skills. Qualifications/Competencies:
1. Ph.D. in Plant Breeding, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or related fields with an emphasis on statistical analysis. 2. Experience in optimizing systems for plant development or screening is desired. 3. Excellent communication skills 4. Self motivated and able to work as part of a team 5. Proficient at data management and project planning"
