We are currently seeking an Electrical Reliability Engineer with Distributed Control Systems experience. This position is responsible for developing and implementing projects including the installation of instrumentation and controls and the replacement of Distributed Control Systems at our Victoria, TX site.
Position Responsibilities:
Lead engineer for the implementation of Distributed Control Systems and process control systems technologies at the Victoria site
Provide expertise on the design, installation and maintenance of DCS, Programmable Logic Controllers, vibration monitoring systems, compressor anti-surge controllers, and process control systems
Provide front end loading including basic data development, scopes of work and economics to complete Project Requests for new capital projects to install DCS, vibration monitoring, instrumentation and process controls projects on the Victoria site
Provide input to the selection of contractors and vendors to implement control system projects
Provide input and guidance to vendors and design contractors during front end loading, production design and installation of controls systems projects
Support integration of new process control technology into the site and integration with process control instrumentation and controls
Provide engineering support to the site Automation Team (DCS maintenance team) to optimize preventative maintenance programs for existing and new control systems
Ensure controls system designs are consistent with established codes and standards and industry best practices
Use organizational and planning skills to set goals and get results
Member of Improve Equipment Reliability Organization at Victoria
Work effectively across all levels of the plant organization, individually and with cross-functional teams
Use Microsoft Office 2007 tools (Word & PowerPoint and Excel)Use Word to create and modify documents and tables, use Excel to create and modify spreadsheets and use PowerPoint to prepare and present PowerPoint presentations
Position Requirements:
Bachelors degree or higher in Electrical Engineering from a University with an accredited Engineering Program
At least 3 years experience with design, installation, and troubleshooting of Distributed Control Systems (DCS)
At least 3 years experience in design and installation on one or more of the following:
Programmable Logic controllers
Vibration Monitoring Systems
Compressor Anti-surge Controls
Control Systems in general
Basic Microsoft Office 2007 skills (Word & PowerPoint and Excel) such as using Word to create and modify documents and tables, using Excel to create and modify spreadsheets and using PowerPoint to prepare and present PowerPoint presentations
Must have a valid and current government issued drivers license
Preferred Experience:
Prior work experience in the petroleum or chemical processing industry in a plant environment
