Business Development Managers - NE, SE or CA territory
Almac Clinical Services, a leading clinical trials packaging provider to the Phrama/Biotech industry is seeks Business Development Managers (BDM) to manage business relationships with our clients. The positions cover NE, SE or CA territories and will ensure that revenue targets for customers are met through regular face-face visits to client sites, and overseeing the preparation of proposals for client projects. This position is a mixture of field- and office-based. At least 50% of a BDM's time will be spent out of the office.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Promotion of the services offered by Almac Clinical Services and our sister companies to the pharmaceutical industry through face-face sales calls, attendance at conferences and exhibitions, and cold-calling activities.
Team with multinational pharmaceutical companies to define their requirements for packaging of their products for clinical trials. Advising clients on technical aspects of clinical trial packaging. Provide detailed reports of these activities.
Ensure that financial and call rate targets are met for all allocated current clients. Meet financial targets for new business development.
Teaming with several internal departments (Project Management, Operations, Design, Logistics, and Procurement) in order to generate price and lead time information to be presented within the proposal, and to ensure that clients' requirements as expressed in the proposal are clearly understood.
Revision of existing proposals in response to changes to client project specifications, and ensuring internal departments are made aware of such changes.
Teaming with the Engineering/Design and Operations Departments and clients to produce a packaging design that meets the needs of their study and can be produced efficiently on Almac Clinical Services production equipment. Working directly with suppliers or through purchasing to ensure that any externally purchased components meet the needs of the trial, are competitively priced, and arrive within the required timeframe.
Either directly, or with the assistance of a Business Development Coordinator, entry of client and proposal information into a Windows-based Order Management System (MOSES) to allow accurate and timely generation of invoices upon completion of work. Use of this system to ensure that any materials ordered are accounted for in proposal prices prior to ordering.
Aiding Business Development Coordinators and VP Business Development in the preparation of long term business forecasts.
Ensuring that all sales presentations are kept up-to-date, and include all of the latest developments within Almac Clinical Services.
Giving presentations to all visitors to Almac Clinical Services, whether the purpose of the visit is sales-related, a quality audit, or for some other purpose.
Entertaining clients as needed who visit Almac Clinical Services.
Working with VP Business Development and other senior management to ensure that business development strategies are implemented.
Share market information (customer contacts, reasons for lost orders, competitor intelligence, and information on client companies) with VP Business Development and other members of the Business Development team.
Maintaining up-to-date information on nominated accounts and any sales leads in the Almac CRM system (Salesforce).
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree or relative work history is essential and a science or business degree is desirable.
Knowledge of clinical trials and the pharmaceutical industry; or knowledge of the contract packaging industry; OR knowledge of logistics/supply chain management.
Knowledge of all policies used within BD to price work and ensure we receive revenue from all quoted services.
Knowledge of BD interfaces with other departments within Clinical Services (and other Almac Divisions), and what these departments need from BD
50% Travel Required. Company supports home-based offices ideally located in NC, CA or PA.
