Title: Breeding Software Application Support Specialist Location: Missouri-St. Louis Sustainable agriculture is at the core of Monsanto. Monsanto scientists and breeders are conducting research and development (R&D) to revolutionize plant breeding and biotechnology. The Technology Pipeline Solutions (TPS) team within IT works directly with Monsanto breeders & scientists around the world to develop software solutions that enhance field processes, streamline workflows and enable cutting-edge molecular breeding research technologies. The accepted candidate will join the emerging field of IT systems informatics to play a key role in defining and delivering breakthrough science in high throughput Breeding, Molecular Breeding Technology and Compliance business platforms to meet expanding global capacity for Monsanto.
This position is responsible for deploying and supporting enterprise-level software systems developed by the TPS IT team for our multi-functional, multi-crop Technology organization. The breeding support specialist will assist with software deployment, training, user adoption, user support, troubleshooting, issue tracking and software documentation. The Application Support Specialist has liaison responsibilities with the application software project team. Required Skills: BS in Agronomy, Plant Sciences, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, or comparable work experience in Agriculture/Biotechnology PC Proficient-a strong working knowledge of Excel, Access and other Microsoft software Strong organizational skills, interpersonal skills and problem solving skills Self starter and be able to work alone or as a part of a team
Desired Skills: MS or PhD in Biology or Plant Sciences; Experience with agricultural research and/or business
